In case you are wondering, "D" is my husband -- Dave Liu! As you've probably noticed, I don't update this blog often but I may post more as I've linked this to my Google+ account.

Spaghetti with Asparagus, Smoked Mozzarella and Prosciutto

D & I enjoy watching Food Network on the weekends. One of our favorite hosts is Giada De Laurentiis, an Italian beauty who looks more like a Greek godess than a professional chef.

After viewing episode EI1B11 for the second time, we tried making the Spaghetti with Asparagus, Smoked Mozzarella and Prosciutto but with substitutions: we used regular mozzarella (not smoked), diced a ham steak instead of prosciutto, and ignored instructions regarding basil and garlic (didn't have any).

Y'know what? It tasted awesome! I'm sure it would have been even better had I used the proper ingredients. If you're too lazy to prepare elaborate meals &/or are intimidated by complex recipes, I recommend that you try this one. It's simple yet delicious!
